The 21st annual Tewksbury Harvest Festival was held on September 21st. It was sponsored by the Tewksbury First Aid & Rescue Squad, and the Tewksbury Public Library. The weather was absolutely perfect. This was the first year with a beer garden. It was also the first time in many years that the balloon was able to take passengers up. Previously bad (windy) weather and presidential temporary flight restrictions prevented launching it. Everyone had a great ti...
After a year of research, planning, meetings, and fund raising, the new ambulance is finally here! Much larger than it's predecessor, and now with four wheel drive, it's better equipped to serve the residents of Tewksbury. If you'd like a personal tour (without dialing 911), drop and email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Several members of the Squad brought three vehicles to the Tewksbury Elementary School's Year End Bash. Numerous students got to climb inside the rigs and play with the sirens, lights, and air horns. The Squad had a contest to move an egg between three traffic cones using a hydraulic combi-tool (aka "the jaws of life"). Only two people succeeded in getting the egg to the third cone, although with some egg damage. We also were able to take a picture of the Te...
The new ambulance is complete. The next step is for the vendor to move the power stretcher, portable suction, Streamlight flashlights, and iPad mount from the old ambulance into the new one. Once complete we will take ownership and deliver it to the radio installer to put the radios in it. After that we just stock it and get in inspected by the NJ EMS Council. Needless to say we're quite excited.
Greg Lattanzio passed his NJ state EMT exam this past week and will now work the back of the ambulance in addition to driving it ( not simultaneously ;-) ). We're very happy to have his additional contributions.

On Tuesday, March 26th, Jeff and Jane Anderson were recognized by the Tewksbury Town Council as the 2018 Citizens of the Year. Jeff and Jane have been EMT's with the Squad for over 20 years, and have held positions all the way up to President. They created the Tewksbury Harvest Festival, ran the Blood Drive, and contributed to many other community events. Besides being the foundation of the Rescue Squad, they're also trustees of the Tewksbury Public Library.
The Squad is very happy to have an experienced cadet join our ranks. Erin Gora has ridden with High Bridge Emergency Squad for about four years. She has competed in multiple cadet competitions with High Bridge, and will continue to ride with them in addition to TFARS. Erin anticipates starting EMT classes next Fall. Welcome Erin.
Donald Maye is TFAR's newest driver. Don will be riding "shotgun" for several calls before hopping in the driver's seat. We look forward to his contributions.
